It is with sadness that we receive the news of the passing of Mr. Seamuus Brannigan.

We extend our deepest condolences to Seamus’s family, many of whom followed his love of music a legacy that can be seen through his family and grandchildren.

RIP Seamus

Tesco Community Grant - Please Support the Lourdes Brass Band

The Lourdes Brass Band are delighted that the Drogheda branch of Tesco Extra has selected us as a worthy community organization and entered us in their community - Blue Chip token Grant scheme.

We would respectfully ask the Drogheda community to consider supporting us when depositing their “Tesco Blue Chip” token in the Donore Road Lagavooren, Drogheda Co. Louth, Tesco Extra branch.

As with all local voluntary community organizations, we are really feeling the after effect of the pandemic and the current energy crisis which are causing huge increases in operation costs.

The Drogheda community has always generously supported local community groups and we are very grateful for your continued support.

Huge crowds at the, - Drogheda Christmas Lights "Switch On"

The town center of Drogheda was packed with the massive crowds who came out to watch the evenings entertainment and see Santa switch on the Drogheda Town Christmas lights display.

Multiple local groups took to the stage and entertained the huge crowds on West Street. Then came Santa who literally “lit up” the Town, followed by the Lourdes Brass Band, who rocked the audience with a feast of festive music.

Many Thanks to the event organizers - The “Love Drogheda” team who put on a brilliant display showcasing Drogheda at her best.

R.I.P. Mr Paul Dunphy

The Lourdes Brass Band extends our deepest sympathies to the family of Mr Paul Dunphy and to the Navan Silver Band.

Paul had been a life long Member, Musical Director and Supporter of the Navan Silver Band.

Over the years Paul had become a great friend of the Lourdes Brass Band and indeed deputized as our Conductor on many an occasion.

His love of music and willingness to pass his wealth of musical knowledge on to the next generations will be his legacy.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and the Navan Silver Band.

St. Patrick's Day - Irish Eyes were Smiling!

Thank you to the People of Drogheda who came out on mass to support the Drogheda St. Patrick’s Day parade.

The Lourdes Brass Band, Drogheda had a great time entertaining the crowds and enjoying the community spirit while celebrating our National Day. With both our Senior and Junior Bands leading the way through the town with their lilting music getting the crowds swinging, it was a day to remember.

We would like to thank the Parade organisers and indeed the Drogheda Community for granting us the opportunity to share our music.

Well done DROGHEDA.

The youngest members of the Lourdes Brass Band have organized Tea, Coffee, Hot Chocolate (With Marshmallows) and a Popcorn machine for all our members, parents, grandparents, supporters and friends. To warm themselves up after leading the Drogheda St. Patrick's Day parade.

St Patrick's Day will be the debut performance of our newest recruits and the final time that some of our students take part in the Parade in our school of music as they will be graduating on to our Lourdes Youth Band.

To celebrate they wish to invite all our friends, family and band members etc. to join them for a refreshing warm cuppa in our Band room after they perform in the Parade.

Tubular Bells are Ringing

The Lourdes Brass band are as proud as punch of our percussion player Ms Kayleigh Branigan taking the big step, this Saturday and tying the knot with her long term Beau Mr. Emmet O’Reilly.

Emmet is no stranger to the Lourdes Brass Band and while he is not a member of the Band, his rhythmic skills played a big part in our most recent win in the South of Ireland Band Championships.

All our members and friends at the Lourdes Brass Band wish both of you every happiness.
